a sampling of what to come

ok, so I am able to upload a bit(only let me upload 3) of photos so here are a couple of the ones from my trek in the Himalayan Mountains. My aussie friend, Stuart and I took a mountain flight(a bit scary since it was very cloudy when we took off and headed into the mountains...i was very thankful during that flight that radar was invented) to a town called Jomson where we then proceeded on our first day (not the brightest of ideas to hike higher on the first day without acclimatizing to the altitude but we were stressed for time) to hike up to 13,000 ft to the buddist holy town, Muktinath. We then trekked down the mountains for the next 5 days staying in adorable mountain villages and viewing some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen. It was def an amazing experience, sometimes very difficult, but very rewarding none the least :)

I was not a happy camper with my blister feet :( damn Nike shoes!

one of the log bridges we had to navigate across, the water was rushing so fast under the bridge that it made me extremely dizzy trying to balance and walk across the log. but luckily my gymnastic days paid off and I made it across without being swept away in the rushing river.

one of the cute mounatin villages we passed through. i thought it was interesting that the way they keep the roofs of their houses on is by weighing them down with wood and rocks. :)

Jen showed me the other pictures on facebook and I looked at others on your page and Jen's. It was fun seeing Anna Poling's wedding pictures and those of Sarah Leonard, Ashley Anderson, and others. I am glad all of you are keeping in touch. Be careful in Isreal. There is lots of fighting now in the Gaza strip and into the West Bank. Love, MOM
