a bit of an update

Sorry everyone, the computers here in Nepal are ancient and so slow so I can't post pictures but I thought an update would be in order anyway. I just got done with a week trek in the Himalayan Mountains and WOW, those mountains are AMAZING! I thought the Rocky Mountains were huge, but man, I was so wrong. I hiked up to 13,000 ft (I believe Pikes Peak in CO is only a mere 14,000 or so feet) and I still wasn't close to the peak of the mountains here in the Himalayans. I hiked through so many different types of climates from complete desolate desert conditions to evergreen forest to wet monsoon conditions towards the end of my hike. The trek as a whole went well except for massive blisters I accumulated on my feet from the damn Nike shoes I was wearing (I should have learned my lesson from wearing Nike shoes and getting huge blisters from them in college) However, Stuart solved the problem by buying me a pair of lovely green $1 flip flops which I wore for the last 2 days of my trek (what a relief!) however, the locals had a good laugh at me and my bandaged feet as I would hobble by. No worries though, I made it down the great mountains and now tomorrow I am off to the Middle East (Dubai, UAE) hopefully Ill be able to post some pics of the ginormous mountains there.
