a lil maya with my fruita & wine

so this past weekend was very busy but awesome! Brad and I decided to take a road trip out to the grand junction area. his cousin and family live in Palisade, co and they were gracious enough to let us stay in their house while we explored the area. however, due to my spontaneity we had an extra guest along for the ride. on friday, i adopted a dog from a local rescue. she is a border collie mix and very shy/timid but such a doll. the rescue said she was probably abused as a puppy, how sad. anyway, she did great all weekend and really opened up. i think she will be such a great dog once she learns how to be a dog.
this was the first time she put her head on my lap during the car ride. i think she may like me? :)

brad and i ventured to fruita, co...a mecca for mountain biking. this was our first ride. it was just as awesome as the first time i went there. (this is my 2nd time)

me riding some sweet singletrack

brad riding some sweet ridgebacks

steep hills

maya's first bath...she really needed a bath esp since she lived her whole life in a kennel/shelter.

just chilling outside brad's cousin's farmhouse

our 4th of july picnic...maya did well but we left just before the fireworks she was getting a lil freaked out.

we were going for the typical white trash, walmart t-shirt wearing, typical american couple look. notice the AWESOME jet fighter on my t-shirt...all i was missing were jean overalls and jelli shoes. ha.

on saturday we took it easy and visited three wineries, a meadery and a local brewery. we escaped with only buying five bottles of wine, two 6 packs of beer, two four packs of rootbeer, and an awesome aspen print. i thought we did pretty good. :)

we took maya downtown grand junction for dinner. she did so good. she just sat next to our table the whole dinner.

no flash pleeeeeeease!!!

finally, sunday morning we got a ride in before we drove back to denver. this ride took us next to the great colorado river.

cheeeeeeeesy, i know. :)

what a sweet/loving pup! I think she is going to be great!
